Ido Ferber is an Israeli ceramic artist based in Japan. After obtaining his BA in Industrial design at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem, Ido moved to Tokyo to pursue an MFA in Ceramic Craft. In his work, he focuses both on materialistic research and the creation of everyday objects.
Born in a small village between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Ido spent most of his life roaming the countryside. Inspired by the processes of the natural world he found himself drawn to making from an early age. Not setting boundaries in his craft, Ido combines metal, wood and ceramic techniques to create his work. In his mind all matter is equal and craft is multidisciplinary and fluid. Drawing from his design background, he creates objects of simplicity, but always adds a layer of experimentation to the process. Giving the natural materials the chance to add their own narrative.
